What are aluminum castings?

Aluminum castings are metal components made of aluminum alloy. Molten aluminum alloy liquid is poured into mold cavities and solidified by cooling to form metal parts. Aluminum castings obtain the required shape and structure through casting. Applications of Aluminum Castings

Compared with cast iron and cast steel parts, aluminum castings have the following advantages:

Classification of Aluminum Castings

1. Classification by Forming Process

1. Low-pressure casting: Aluminum liquid fills the mold upward under low pressure and solidifies under pressure. It features low porosity and high density, suitable for thin-walled complex pressure-bearing parts, and widely adopted in new energy, automotive cylinder blocks and gearbox housings.
2. Gravity casting (permanent mold casting): Aluminum liquid fills the mold by its own weight. Suitable for small and medium batches with favorable mechanical properties.
3. High-pressure die casting: Filling at high speed and high pressure for mass production of thin-walled parts with high efficiency. However, internal porosity is difficult to control, so it is generally not applicable to pressure-bearing parts requiring heat treatment.
